As an author, you want to put your book into the hands of as many readers as you can. Having your book stocked in bricks and mortar bookshops and hand-sold by booksellers is one of the most successful ways to achieve this. If you want your book stocked, promoted and sold by booksellers, how do you get them excited about you and your book?

Whether you are a traditionally published author or an independently published author - or still aspiring - you will not want to miss this session.

Daniel Jordon, bookseller and owner of Sydney institution, Roaring Stories Bookshop, will share his perspective on:

  • how and when to approach booksellers and bookshops
  • the criteria book buyers use to select what books to put in their shops
  • the top 5 mistakes to avoid when approaching booksellers
  • the 5 best tips for a successful book event
  • which marketing materials and promotions actually work
  • reaching out to sign stock
  • what independent/self-published authors should know, including book wholesalers

Join us for this session so that you know how booksellers choose which books to stock and how to be an author they want to work with.
