We currently receive a number of Facebook posts in our member group from that are promotional in nature. As our policy does not allow us to accept them, we decided to ask our Facebook group for their opinion on revising this policy. They gave a very clear thumbs down to allowing promotional material, so we have decided to open up another area for these announcements, thus preserving the Facebook group’s focus on writing tips and publishing advice.
We are delighted to announce the launch of a members-only Notice Board on our website. This is an area where you can all share news about events and meet-ups: a place to reach out to other members with your news. These announcements/listing will be categorised by State or Territory, as well as a national category.
Any queries for your fellow members about advice on craft and the industry, will still be posted on the closed Facebook member group BEYOND WORDS. This is a place to learn from each other’s experiences and share advice and tips to inspire your creative side and help you develop your career. New To View will continue as the bulletin in which members can share news of their upcoming publications, not only to other members but also to booksellers and library wholesalers.
We know that many of you join the ASA in order to have access to a community of like-minded people and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to share information with one another. We look forward to you submitting your listing using the form in the member’s area and following the Notice Board to find out what’s going on in your area: book launches, meet-ups, writing groups, festivals, workshops, signings etc.
