This package includes:

  • Adjustments to Four Year Funding 2021-2024
  • Suspending current investment programs and introducing new ones
  • First Nations support

  • Research and analysis to identify immediate and long term impacts of COVID-19 on the Australian arts sector
  • Reporting and other grants condition relief, including bringing forward payments, extending timelines for projects and delaying or simplifying reporting requirements

Overall, the Australia Council are moving to free up funds as quickly as possible in order to immediately support those affected, and working closely with the Office for the Arts and the Minister to assist the Government’s response. Along with other peak bodies, the ASA will continue to participate in roundtable discussions with the Australia Council to ensure that the needs of authors are represented, both in the short and longer term.
