The Board of the Australian Society of Authors announces, with regret, the resignation of our CEO, Juliet Rogers.

Juliet, in her four years in the role, has steered the ASA through a challenging time and leaves your organisation in better shape than when she started, with a high performing team keenly focused on advancing the interests of authors.

The Board thanks Juliet for her contribution and wishes her all the best for the future.

Olivia Lanchester, currently the ASA's Legal Services Manager and Company Secretary, is the incoming CEO.

It is rare to have such a seamless transition in CEOs. Olivia, with a background of practising in intellectual property law, has worked closely with Juliet in all areas of the ASA’s operations. She will continue Juliet’s excellent advocacy on behalf of authors.

Please join with us in thanking Juliet for her tireless work on behalf of authors and in congratulating Olivia on her new role. No doubt many of you will want to thank Juliet personally over the next couple of months as she is working on handing over to Olivia.

The ASA acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet and work, and all Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuing connection to land, place, waters and community. We pay our respects to their cultures, country and elders past present and emerging.

The ASA respects Australia's first storytellers.
