Our April Virtual Literary Speed Dating results

5.05.21

Thank you to all our members who joined us for our first Virtual Literary Speed Dating event of 2021 last month! Over two days, the ASA hosted sessions with 13 publishers and 6 agents, facilitating 414 pitches from our members across Australia.

We are delighted to share that of these pitches, 45% received an expression of interest from a publisher or agent, an increase of almost 5% from our last event!

For those authors/illustrators who successfully made a match, we wish you all the very best. Should you need any assistance or support on the next steps of your publishing journey the ASA is here to help. Review our Frequently Asked Questions, check out our standard contract templates, or ask for advice through our Advice service.

If you did not make a match at this round of Literary Speed Dating, don’t worry: we’ll be hosting two more Virtual Literary Speed Dating events this year, in July and October. Plus, if you’d like to learn the secret to a successful pitch and be ready for next time be sure to join us for Pitch Perfect, our masterclass series that you will teach you everything you need to know to prepare for - and nail - your pitch. Importantly, members who have attended Pitch Perfect sessions will be given early access to bookings for our July Literary Speed Dating event!

The ASA acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet and work, and all Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuing connection to land, place, waters and community. We pay our respects to their cultures, country and elders past present and emerging.
